So for the sensitive flexible packaging industry, low temperature weather will bring the impact of packaging damage, how should we avoid it? Let’s take a look.

In the case of low temperature environment in winter, the brittleness of soft plastic materials increases and is prone to embrittlement under the condition that the material and process parameters of BOPP/CPP (CPP is cast polypropylene film) structure are basically unchanged. Because in the low temperature environment, the activity ability of the molecular chain segment inside the corresponding polymer material of the flexible plastic packaging is reduced, the deformation under the action of external force decreases, and the impact resistance is weakened, which causes the flexibility and brittleness of the flexible plastic packaging to decrease, that is, the flexibility and impact resistance of the packaging material deteriorate at low temperature, resulting in intolerance to external impact, broken bags, air leakage and other damage phenomena.

In this case, we will add low-temperature and freeze-resistant materials to the production to ensure that the temperature does not affect the use and transportation of the packaging. For example, cast copolymer polypropylene film (CCPP) is used.

We will also select packaging materials reasonably according to the characteristics of the contents and cost control. For example, OPP/LDPE material is a more commonly used low-temperature material because of its moisture-proof, cold-resistant, low-temperature heat sealing tensile strength and suitable cost. PA/LDPE has good cold resistance, impact resistance and puncture resistance, and is suitable for product packaging with relatively hard contents, but the cost is high. In addition, PE, PET/PE. BOPP/PE, BOPP/CPP and other materials can also be selected according to actual needs.
